May 8 - The authorities reported the capture of Mas Selamat bin Kastari, Singapore's Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) leader who escaped from Whitley Road Detention Centre on February 27, 2008. He was arrested in Johor, Malaysia on April 1, 2009.
